Frequently asked

Plain answers

Don't see your question? Email mobility@rivergate.gov or call the hotline. We add new answers every week.

Parking

+Where can I park downtown right now?
All four city garages remain fully open: Riverfront, Elm & 2nd, Civic, and Market Square. Surface lots on River Road have been expanded with 60 temporary spaces. The first 30 minutes are free at every garage during Phase 2.
+Are on-street meters still active?
Yes, except in active work zones. Meter posts inside closures are bagged and free of charge. ParkRivergate app users will see real-time availability.
+What about residential permit zones?
Permit zones around the project are honored. If construction blocks your usual block, an emergency curbside permit is available — call the hotline.

Bikes & micromobility

+Is the protected bike lane open?
The Main Street protected lane is built in segments. Open: 1st–2nd. Closed and detoured: 2nd–4th. The signed Elm Avenue greenway is the recommended detour.
+Where are the docked bike-share stations?
Two stations relocated this phase: Main & 3rd is temporarily at Elm & 3rd; Civic Plaza is at the library. The system map updates daily.

Buses & transit

+Which routes are detoured?
Routes 12, 14, and 22 detour onto River Road during Phase 2. Route 8 is unchanged. All real-time arrival signs update automatically.
+Will fares change during construction?
No. Fares, transfers, and reduced-fare programs are unchanged for the duration of the project.

Deliveries

+When can trucks load and unload on Main?
Loading windows on Main Street run 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM during Phase 2 — three hours longer than normal. Outside the window, use designated alleys or apply for a curb permit.
+How do I get a same-day delivery permit?
Call the hotline at (555) 555-0311. Same-day permits are issued within 2 hours when staff and signage are available.
